My brother Travis and my sister Mona flew home from college for my birthday.
One of their gifts to me was an ATV ride with Haleakala ATV Tours.

At first, I wasn’t that excited and when I got there I became nervous!

I HATED the practice ride. Yes, you need to go around a trail that’s filled with huge rocks and crazy turns to determine whether or not you can ride an ATV. I got scared because a few times I almost fell off.

Even the first couple of minutes were dreadful. The trail got way more smooth, still rocky though, but there was one hill that I had trouble going over. My ATV stalled at the top of the hill actually. A guide had to help me out.

When we stopped for drinks I had an opportunity to go on the Jeep but I told myself I would finish the ride; I’m glad I did.

Once I got the hang of it and I actually got a feel of what I was doing, I had an AMAZING time!

The ride was incredible, I worked up the courage to go faster, I embraced the rocks and sticks, the guides were funny and nice, I just had an all-around good time.

Now I can’t wait to do it again.:)

The worst part of it all was that the next day I was in so much pain and it lasted for a couple of days. It was worth it though. I’d do it again in a heart beat.
